EZ UP Seat Assist Review

EZ Up Seat Assist (sometimes written as “EZUP”) is a device which gives people a boost when going from a seated to a standing position. The product, prounounced “Easy Up,” could be called the As Seen on TV version of other chair assist devices which have been on the market for years.

EZ Up Seat Assist does not require electricity, but instead uses hydropneumatic spring technology. This is common among this type of product. When you attempt to stand while seated on the cushion, the gas springs push upward and do some of the work for you. This makes standing an easier task.

Although some people prefer chairs with electric lifts, EZ Up Seat Assist uses no electricity, therefore it is portable around the house and on the go. You can take it with you to visit friend’s house or even to a restaurant.

One caveat is that when you use this product, you’ll be seated higher up than without it. Thus, arm rests may feel somewhat lower than you expect them to be. It also seems to be more stable on harder cushions and chairs. Very soft sofa cushions do not seem as efficient, as the device can push downward into the cushion, or wobble slightly.

EZ Up Seat Assist is similar in appearance to other lifts of this type. Compare it to, for example, the Carex Upeasy Seat Assist, which sells for about $73 and has relatively positive reviews.

Overall, we feel that those who purchase it will generally be satisfied, despite a few “cons” listed above. There are powered units like this available, for a higher cost. Depending on your needs, you may also want to consider one of those products as well.
