Today I’m taking a look at three extremely simple products requested by viewers: one designed for fun, one for convenience, and one for getting work done. I put each one through a hands-on test to see how they hold up. From the surprisingly fun Moon Ball to a beach day helper and a car-based workspace, here’s how they all performed.
Where to Purchase
Below are links where you can find the products I purchased for this video
Moon Ball vs Nerf Ball
Moon Ball claims to be the highest-bouncing ball on Earth, and it’s definitely got some bounce. It features 30 crater-like dimples that help grip and create a “pop” sound when it hits the ground. I tested two Moon Balls against a two-pack of Nerf “high bounce” balls that also promised high bounce and durability. After a series of bounces and head-to-head comparisons in California three of us trying them out, the Moon Ball was our unanimous pick as the better ball. It bounced higher, felt more satisfying in the hand, and delivered a fun experience overall. It’s smaller and more expensive, but for bounce and novelty, the Moon Ball wins.
Towel Bands
These simple silicone bands are meant to keep your towel in place on a beach or poolside chair, which can be especially helpful on windy days. I tested them in my backyard with two matching chairs and towels, one with towel bands and one without. The “control” towel blew off of the chair after only about 15 minutes, but the towel bands stayed firmly in place for three days. Bonus: they glow in the dark, which I didn’t realize until after testing. While the material isn’t particularly stretchy, they did fit snugly over my chairs and proved to be a useful solution for anyone heading to the beach, pool, or cruise deck.
Wheeldesk
The Wheeldesk is a simple wooden tray designed to rest over your steering wheel and provide a flat surface for working on a laptop or tablet. It’s lightweight, requires no assembly, and claims to hold up to 39 lbs. I tested it with my laptop and found that it does offer a surprisingly ergonomic setup with the screen at eye level and hands in a comfortable position. I did notice it left small dents or marks on my steering wheel after a short time (which some comments on Amazon suggested would happen). Adding a towel band helped reduce the pressure a bit, but long-term use could still pose cosmetic issues. It’s a good idea if you need to get work done in your car, but be cautious about steering wheel damage. That issue may not be the same for everyone, as different steering wheels and different laptop weights will all affect this.
Conclusion
All three of these products did what they claimed, but the standouts were the Moon Ball for its fun factor and the Towel Bands for solving a real-world problem. The Wheeldesk is useful, but may not be for everyone due to the risk of steering wheel indentations. If you’re looking for simple products that might just surprise you, these are worth a look.
