Brooklyn Brownie Copper Review
When I first saw the ad for Brooklyn Brownie Copper, I knew the design of this product looked familiar, and it actually seems to combine two As Seen on TV products into one unit: a brownie maker and a copper kitchen pan.
I tested a device several years ago called Perfect Brownie, which – aside from the copper color and nonstick coating – was virtually the same as Brooklyn Brownie Copper. The only difference is that Perfect Brownie isn’t nonstick, although that can be easily remedied by the generous use of nonstick cooking spray.
The good news for Brooklyn Brownie Copper is that Perfect Brownie worked pretty well, and the primary complaint for that product was that the brownies would sometimes stick to the sides. Thus, with the addition of a nonstick surface, it would appear that Brooklyn Brownie Copper has addressed the primary complaint in an otherwise successful product.
To use Brooklyn Brownie Copper, you simply put your batter in the pan, set the divider in place, and bake. When it’s done, you can remove the divider and place the pan on a can of food (not a base as they show in the commercial), which will present a batch of perfectly-cut brownies.
In my tests, I found that it worked pretty much as expected. The nonstick surface performed excellently, and only minimal residue was left behind. My video below shows brownies, Rice Crispy Treats, and peanut butter bars – all which were handled by Brooklyn Brownie Copper with ease.
The original advertising indicated that you could mix directly in the pan, but it appears that the current batch of ads don’t make that assertion. The instructions also clearly state not to use metal utensils or risk scratching the nonstick surface. Although my initial tests were a success, I will continue to use it and see how it works over time.
Overall, I think Brooklyn Brownie Copper will be highly rated by those who use it. It seems to be a slight step up from Perfect Brownie, which is still available in some stores. Now that Brooklyn Brownie Copper is also available in stores, there seems to be no reason to choose Perfect Brownie over this.
Now that Brooklyn Brownie Copper is available in stores, I think it’s a pretty good investment for those of you who think the advertising looks compelling, and if my review below addresses any of your concerns. Alternatives
There is no shortage of inexpensive nonstick brownie pans, such as this popular $13 model that sports a 4.8 star rating.
As noted above, you may recall another As Seen on TV called Perfect Brownie, which was marketed around 2009-2010, and is still sometimes seen in stores, although I don’t believe it’s being produced anymore. It works similarly to Brooklyn Brownie Copper, including the way in which the bottom raises to serve the final product.
