Klydoclock Review: Is This Next-Generation Clock Worth $300?

I recently got my hands on the Klydoclock, a unique clock that’s has been advertising heavily on social media in early 2025. At $300, it’s certainly not an impulse buy, so I was eager to see if it justified the price and to share my results with you.

Where to Purchase

As of this writing, the only place to find Klydoclock is directly from the official website, klydoclock.com.

First Impressions and Setup

Right out of the box, the Klydoclock impresses with elegant packaging. The clock itself features two HD screens framed in stylish bent plywood and powder-coated aluminum, giving it a contemporary yet vintage-inspired aesthetic. Setup was straightforward, although inputting my Wi-Fi password was a bit cumbersome. Once connected, it displayed its first animation with a subtle ticking sound reminiscent of traditional mantel clocks, which added a nice touch of realism.

Daily Animations and User Experience

The primary feature of the Klydoclock is its seemingly endless array of visually captivating animations created by artists and designers from around the globe. Each day, the clock displays a new, randomly selected animation accompanied by a virtual pendulum that complements the animation theme. You don’t have to wait 24 hours to see more animations, however, as you can also browse the animation feed using the provided metal remote, adding favorites as you go.

I was particularly impressed by the variety, ranging from realistic nature scenes and surreal abstract art to whimsical animations. A few of my favorites included an endless zoom animation and a peaceful video loop of a bird. However, one minor gripe is that the animations only update once per day, and I’d prefer more frequent refresh options.

The clock also features additional details, like silent hours which can be set to your liking, automatically turning off chimes and ticking sounds. It switches to a dim, red-tinted night mode during these hours, though unfortunately, there’s currently no option to customize this color at this time. The website promises a new app experience coming soon, so my guess is that more customization options are on the horizon.

Final Thoughts

After a week of daily use, the Klydoclock has proven to be an eye-catching addition to my home decor, offering an interesting conversation piece each morning. However, the clock isn’t without its quirks. The initial setup instructions could have been clearer, and the lack of a rechargeable option limits placement flexibility since it needs to remain plugged in.

Overall, the Klydoclock delivers on its promise of reimagining the traditional clock, blending art, technology, and functionality seamlessly. While its $300 price tag may deter some, those who appreciate innovative design and daily visual variety will find it worthwhile.

Have you tried the Klydoclock or something similar? I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments!
