Nicer Dicer Magic Cube Review
Kitchen slicers have been a mainstay of television advertising for decades. Now with the Nicer Dicer Magic Cube, we have the option to slice, dice, chop, and more.
If the design of Nicer Dicer Magic Cube seems familiar, you aren’t mistaken. There have been a number of products sporting a similar design in recent years. You may recall the Vidalia Chop Wizard or the 1 Second Slicer, both of which include a receptacle to catch and store your chopped items. They also sport a similar green color, rectangular shape, and lid used to press food items through blades.
Nicer Dicer Magic Cube does go a bit further than the others in that it gives you considerable options regarding different blades that are easy to swap out. In addition to pressing food items through the metal blades, you can also slide food across the blades in order to achieve thin slices. There doesn’t appear to be any way to adjust the height of the slicing blades, which could be a minor complaint to some users.
I’m confident that some users will find many of the features useful, even if the construction isn’t particularly high quality, and some blades will be of more use than others. The cheese grater, for example, might be flimsy but it’s horizontal design in which the cheese falls into the receptacle could be a compelling feature.
After using quite a few products similar to Nicer Dicer Magic Cube, I can tell you that they do tend to work, but the materials are not usually of the highest quality. The blades are sharp, but that doesn’t mean they are made from the best materials.
The $40 price tag seems a bit out of line with the cost of similar products, which usually run about $20.
Keep in mind that Nicer Dicer Magic Cube is a new product, based on its April 2017 registration date. That means it is probably being test marketed to gauge consumer interest. It has been my experience that test marketed items often change names, designs, or prices before going into full production. I would be surprised if the $40 price holds over time, based on the prices of the competition.
Overall, if you have realistic expectations, and the $40 price tag doesn’t bother you, Nicer Dicer Magic Cube may be a good fit for you. If you aren’t sure, or if the cost seems too high, there are similar options that are available locally for less
Alternatives
As noted above, Vidalia Chop Wizard is a long-running As Seen on TV chopper that holds mostly positive ratings. There is also a “Pro” version that costs about the same and has even higher ratings.
