Star Shower Laser Magic Review
If the name “Star Shower” sounds familiar, you probably recall ads for Star Shower Laser Lights back in 2015, and its follow-up called Star Shower Motion in 2016. The original Star Shower Laser Lights were static, while the lights on Star Shower Motion moved in a pattern. A lesser-known version called Star Shower Patriot was also released, with red and blue lights for the summer holidays in the USA. Now with Star Shower Laser Magic, we have what appears to be a logical evolution to the third-generation of Star Shower products. This version includes moving images, rather than just moving points of light.
To use Star Shower Laser Magic, you simply plug it in, and point it at your house. You can press a button to toggle through different images, such as Santa, snowman, ghosts, bats, stars, or the “regular” Star Shower points of light.
Star Shower Laser Magic was test marketed in early 2017 and hit store shelves around August 2017, along with two other Star Shower products: Star Shower Window Wonderland (review here) and Star Shower Slide Show (review).
As you can see in the video below, I currently own four Star Shower products, and it seems to me that Star Shower Laser Magic is the most logical evolution of the first two Star Showers. Like its predecessors, it offers red/green or green only, and a button to start or stop motion. Another button allows you to toggle through Christmas and Halloween images. You can place it in the ground with a stake or use the included flat base. The base I received was defective and had no threading. I don’t know if that was just my unit or if it’s a widespread problem.
Of the three Star Shower products marketed in 2017, Laser Magic was priced in the middle of the pack at $50. I used a 20% coupon at Bed Bath and Beyond to drop $10 off the price. If I had to choose among my four Star Shower products, I’d probably pick this one or Star Shower Slide Show. Laser Magic is a solid and logical upgrade from Star Shower Motion. With limited availability, Star Shower Laser Magic is often sold for more than its original $50 price.

Star Shower Laser Magic is one of several laser light products to be marketed after the 2015 marketing campaign of Star Shower Laser Light, and the 2016 campaign of Star Shower Motion. Those have spawned several copycat laser light products.
