Tear-Aid Review
Tear-Aid is a brand of patch kits which can be used to repair a wide variety of fabrics. There are two types of patch kits, with Type A facilitating the majority of fabrics, while Type B is suited to vinyl repairs.
This is a clear, elastic patch which is designed to stay in place for tough repair jobs. It can be trusted for air-tight and water-tight repairs. We have seen excellent first-hand results with a variety of uses of Tear-Aid. Consumers use it for everything from air mattresses to inflatable boats to canvas gazebos.
A Tear-Aid patch kit includes 3 patches of different sizes, which can be cut to size. There is also a reinforcement filament for repairing tears which occur at edges, alcohol prep pads, and instructions.
We found Tear-Air to be superior to repair kits you’ll find included with products. It holds better, and has an elastic design so it can move as the item is stretched. Not only does it stay in place, but it lasts. We tested it on an inflatable boat, and it was still in place (and air-tight) a year later.
There are few minor “cons” worth mentioning. Some consumers have expressed disappointment with the amount included in the box. An even smaller minority have said that it didn’t stay in place, however we have found that it does an exemplary job of staying in place in our numerous tests. Be sure to follow the directions to the letter in order to get the most out of Tear-Aid.
Tear-Aid may not be the ideal solution where appearance matters, such as a vinyl couch – as you’ll still be able to see the patch.
Overall, we find Tear-Aid to be among the finest in its class, with only a few competitors in the same league. If you purchase Tear-Aid for a tough repair job, we’re certain the majority of consumers will be satisfied with its performance.
