Testing Three Random Amazon Finds

Today I’m diving into three totally unrelated products from Amazon. Usually I like to group similar items together for reviews, but this time I’m tackling a random assortment. We’ll explore a Shark Popper toy, some food plate dividers, and a Bluetooth label maker. Let’s see if these items are worth the hype.

Where to Purchase

Below are the items featured in this review and where I purchased them:

Shark Popper: A Fun (and Safe) Toy for Kids and Adults

First Impressions

The Shark Popper is a quirky little toy that I found on Amazon for $13.95, with a solid 4.6-star rating. It comes with six foam balls that you insert into the shark’s mouth, then squeeze to pop them out. The harder you squeeze, the farther the foam ball shoots – Amazon claims it can go up to 20 feet.

Testing the Range and Accuracy

For my test, I set up a “target practice” area (a chalk target on my cinderblock wall) at 20 feet to see how far I could shoot the foam ball. To my surprise, the ball consistently fell a bit short, maxing out around 16 feet, even with a hard squeeze. While it didn’t quite reach the advertised distance, it was still fun! My dog Bailey quickly got involved, assuming the foam balls were her new toys – note to pet owners: this isn’t really dog-friendly!

Verdict

Overall, the Shark Popper is a fun, light-hearted toy that could entertain kids and adults alike. It’s safe for indoor or outdoor play and sturdy enough for repeated use. However, if you lose any of the balls (as I quickly did), it might be a little tricky to find replacements.

Food Cubby Plate Dividers: Keeping Food Separate, One Compartment at a Time

Initial Impressions

The Food Cubby is a simple, silicone-based plate divider designed to keep foods from mixing. At $4.99, it’s a reusable, dishwasher-safe option that claims to create tidy compartments on any plate. It features two dividers with small suction cups to hold them in place.

Putting It to the Test

My first trial was with a rather challenging mix: mashed potatoes with gravy and a side of black beans. After letting it sit for 20 minutes, the dividers managed to keep most of the food separate, although some liquid did sneak around the edges. It wasn’t a perfect barrier, but it kept my foods from fully mixing.

In a more “real world” test, I used the Food Cubby to separate items like apple slices, cheese, and a small portion of meat & potatoes. This setup worked even better since there weren’t as many liquids involved. While this product seemed a little silly at first, it grew on me as I thought about the convenience it could bring to people (kids especially!) who prefer their foods separated.

Verdict

Though it seems trivial, the Food Cubby actually works for its intended purpose. If you or someone in your household can’t stand food mixing on the plate, this could be a handy item. It’s particularly great for young kids or anyone with texture sensitivities.

Supvan Bluetooth Label Maker: Small but Mighty for Organization

Unboxing and Setup

Priced at $29.99, the Supvan Bluetooth Label Maker has a 4.3-star rating on Amazon with nearly 10,000 reviews. It’s compact and connects to your phone via Bluetooth, offering multiple fonts, icons, and label styles. Although the setup was straightforward, the app only has a 2.4-star rating in the App Store, which initially worried me.

Functionality and Print Quality

Once I got the label maker connected, I tested a few sample prints. From text to simple images, the labels came out surprisingly crisp for such a small device. I liked that I could personalize my labels with different fonts and add small icons. However, I discovered that the labels aren’t completely waterproof – a quick water test showed that while the ink held, the adhesive backing did not.

Limitations

One issue was that I received only one roll of label tape, despite the listing claiming three rolls. Plus, replacement rolls are relatively pricey, around $10–12 for two rolls. My biggest concern, though, is the app dependency: if the app becomes outdated or unusable, the label maker would essentially be a paperweight.

Verdict

For simple home organization or office use, this Bluetooth label maker gets the job done efficiently. It’s easy to use, compact, and allows for a good amount of customization. Just be aware of the adhesive limits if you need waterproof labels.

Final Thoughts

Each of these products has its quirks and strong points. The Shark Popper is a fun, safe toy that’s easy to use indoors or outdoors – just make sure to keep it away from pets! The Food Cubby Plate Divider surprised me with its utility for keeping foods separate, especially for picky eaters. And the Supvan Label Maker, while effective and compact, would be much better if it were waterproof and had a more reliable app.
