Claims & Features

  • Includes the Old and New Testaments
  • Easily and quickly search for specific verses, chapters, or phrases
  • Portable
  • Ideal for the visually impaired
  • Comes with earphones, zippered storage case, and charging cable

Cost

Wonder Bible costs about $30-$40. The audio player comes with several bonus items which include a pair of earphones, a zip up storage case, and a charging cable. I picked up Wonder Bible on Amazon for about $44, although the price as of this 2022 update is closer to $30.

Wonder Bible Review

Wonder Bible is an electronic device which holds audio of both the Old Testament and New Testament, along with several instrumental “meditation” pieces of music. This compact device can be played through the included speaker, or through a standard headphone jack. It is compact enough to place in a shirt pocket or purse, and can be stored in the included carry case. It is ideal for listening on the go, or in the car. It is also well-suited for those with limited vision.

To use Wonder Bible, you simply press and hold the power button to turn the device on. You’ll then directly select the code for the specific chapter you want, or you can browse chapters using the arrow keys. The website states that you can “easily search out any verse, chapter, or phrase” but keep in mind that “searching” with this device is more akin to scrolling or browsing. You can’t search out a specific word, for example, but you can use the number keys to select specific chapters quite easily. For most people, this should be sufficient and easy to use.

I tried the Wonder Bible in both of my cars, and found that it easily connected to the sound system and played through my speakers. I also tested it out on the freeway using only its built-in speaker, and found the volume to be more than sufficient.

The audio is clear and the narrator (Christopher Glenn) has a pleasing and easy to understand voice.

I’m glad that the makers decided to use a rechargeable battery for this, rather than forcing the customers to use disposable batteries. The rechargeable battery is also replaceable. Because of the simple function of Wonder Bible, you should be able to get many hours of play out of it before it needs to be recharged. It took me a couple of hours to recharge my device.

Price-wise, Wonder Bible’s $40 price tag and free shipping make this a competitive option for those seeking an electronic Bible, although some may argue that the technology used to create it is somewhat outdated and shouldn’t cost that much. If you have seen the advertising and think you’ll like it, I believe you’ll be satisfied with Wonder Bible. If you’re more tech-savvy and prefer smartphone apps, that may be a better choice for you.

Alternatives

There is a $60 Daily Meditation Audio Bible that is a highly rated option on Amazon. That company offers both dramatized and non-dramatized versions.

I don’t like the name of the product for starters. I just saw an infomercial this morning. It is well done and made me think it would be a great Christmas gift for two in my family. BUT, because of who the intended family members I would like to send it to, I really want to make sure it is what it claims to be. But the name is one of the first red flags … “The Wonder Bible” …. It just seems to redundant, and should be called something else…. If this product was sold 30 years ago the… Read more »

Perhaps just ask questions instead of giving, quite one sided, opinions on the name, really?? Your phrasing and general attitude doesn’t really invite a response. Secondly, if you actually desire answers, go to the product website and not freakinreviews.com.

Why wouldn’t you expect to get answers on a review site? The product site is useless, I’m sure that’s why Denise (and myself) came here.

Denise didn’t even ask a question, DA. She was being snarkey and condescending for no reason. What is your question, I don’t see one from you either?! I own and LOVE my wonder Bible… And if I have questions, I politely ask. Attitude gets you double in return, typically.

She clearly did ask a question: what music is included.

My questions are about how easy it is to use for my 85 year old grandmother. No need to respond though, other review sites had the information.

I’m with you. I ordered some time ago and there is still no shipment info. I checked the website, no info. I called the customer service number–impossible to get through. I am going to contact Paypal and make sure they don’t get my money, since I apparently am not going to get the product!

They are great and we are enjoying ours. We are 50 + years as Christians, and these are great little audio Bibles with music button too. We did opt for the clearer sound, which was a little upcharge. We’re in the real world, guys. Heaven is coming some day. These are nice and nice gifts.

Don’t buy wonder Bible. Customer service is non existent. When you track your shipment, thru fedex, you get one date of delivery, two days after it is supposed to arrive, customer service refuses to assist you

Baloney, the Wonder Bibles I ordered came just fine… Took a little longer, but get over it…like 7-8 days longer than one might expect. Don’t forget, the postal service is behind several days this year. It is a great little audio Bible and a great gift!! Clear and easy to understand. They are a blessing.

Is it me or does Maria sound like a paid promoter for this product? As I read over all her comments, they are very similar and do not accept any other opinions. As a Christian I would think Maria (??) would be able to accept that not everyone would want this. I for one would not pay this kind of money for a product that I can get for free, save that money for your church or other charitable organization. Sorry Maria, do not mean to offend but please, allow others to respectfully offer their opinions also.

Yes, agentreddoll, please take your own advice. Please allow others to respectfully offer their opinions. I respectfully offered mine, and never stopped anyone from offering theirs. I am not paid by anyone. It is rude of you to tell me and others that I am a paid promoter. It appears you are the type who thinks its your job to straighten others out.

Sorry maria, it was you who was “straightening out others” and I just pointed it out. Guess I hit a nerve. I do “take my own advice” and allow other opinions without negatively commenting on them. So thank you for your advice, you may want to take your own advice also. Have a good day.

Please go back and read your comments, calling someone a scrooge for not wanting to pay this money for something they could get for free; telling someone they come just fine, so get over it; saying there is “whining” on this thread because some people do not want to pay this price. These are just some of your comments. And you tell me to take my own advice? Plllllease, do it yourself my dear.

You show your true colors as a ‘Christian’ now.. even resorting to calling me a swear word in a discussion over a Bible product. True sign of a very shallow fake Christian.
Learn to be sensitive to things of Christ, and let go of your strong ego and self concern, Baxter.
Death to self! Alive to Christ! That is the path you must humble yourself to to be a servant of Christ.
Death to your self, humility.

I’m sorry. In reading your judgment of others in reprimanding agent troll for being someone who feels it’s their job to straighten others (and then you do the same thing) i forgot to add hypocrite. it is YOU showing your true legalistic colors. It’s never pleasant, but you need to be called out for what you are. Done with you. bye bye

wow. Maria must be a paid spokesperson. She praises this overpriced, bad product with equally horrible customer service. Ours broke within days. Her review is not trustworthy. She claims to be a follower of Christ, yet is guilty of the same arrogance and judgment that she accuses others. Very shallow baby christian indeed. What’s worse is that she can’t see it. Oh well…..listen people, the product is very cheap and a waste of money. It doesn’t perform as advertised. Shame on you, Maria, for endorsing junk. Enjoy the commission. It won’t last.

It’s a PROTESTANT bible (KJV) which is fine for them. However, I would prefer a Catholic bible version (with the books that KJV bibles don’t have) as I am a devout Catholic. THEN may be interested.

Also, I wonder if it is “complete” word for word.

I ordered this 2 weeks ago. I thought, what a fantastic thing to have, to be able to listen to the Bible when I clean house, drive to and from work, etc. Now, 2 weeks later, when I check on the status, it still says, “The order you’re looking for is still being added to the order tracking page. Please check back in a few minutes.” I’ve tried to call the number listed for “questions about your order,” but can never get through. The confirmation Email I got when I ordered said, “Your account is never charged until your order… Read more »

This can only be targeted at people without smart phones. Seriously, this should be an app.

It’s not like the KJV is still under copyright. You wouldn’t have to buy old cheap electronics and its cost should be minimal.

A free app supported by ads or even a 99 cent app would make a lot more sense. Even $4.99 would be a fair price.

Doesn’t the Bible have something to say about greed?

And based on the comments here, the company is just what you’d expect from someone who advertises on TV.

The electronics cost next to nothing to make. There is no copyright they have to pay. All they need to do is hire some people to read the words. You don’t need an expensive studio.

Would you pay $40 for an audio-book even if it was read by Morgan Freeman or some other highly paid actor?

You shouldn’t and the fact that there are FREE audio versions of the Bible absolutely disproves your assertion that these are being sold at “a very good price”.

No, it proves my assertion that these are being sold at “a very good price,” Mr. Gat. I got them at $30 each and that is a good price for what it has to offer. Have a good day, sir…and remember, acting like Scrooge is ….bahhh humbug! Merry Christ-mas..Christ is a kind person!

I bought one and was surprising happy with it. The speaker sounds great, its the KJV Bible and the music on it is really nice. I am so Happy with it. Sure I see the price being a little high for an audio Bible but I am pleased with the product and do like it. The screen is easy to see and the speaker can get loud. Its easy to use and overall very glad with this perchase.

Does it only come in KJV? I’m not a fan of the outdated language & textual inaccuracies of the KJV although I do enjoy the poetic sound of it. I’m looking for a more concise modern version to listen to.

Why anyone would buy this when YouVersion has the same thing (and more) on their app for FREE, is beyond me. My nephew purchased it. It’s tinny and doesn’t work properly. It’s junk. I’ve got to believe that most, if not all, of the glowing reviews are promotional fakes.

I am so happy with the Wonder Bible. My husband is hard of hearing and can hear this one fine. I did not know about the upgrade to a better speaker. I may give this one to a friend in the hospital that had a severe stroke and purchase the upgraded one for me. I would recommend this audio bible. God sent His Word and healed us and delivered us from all our destructions.

With todays tech advances there’s no reason something should sound like an old transistor radio. You would never listen to music through this because it sounds thin and just simply terrible. The product isn’t made well. The fact that people buy it is indeed a “wonder.” 🙂
