InstaShelves Review
If InstaShelves look familiar, you may have seen commercials for this occasionally-advertised product, which has been around for years. It is back in 2017 with a renewed advertising campaign, although the commercial found on the product website is several years old.
The idea behind InstaShelves is simple: It is a plastic shelf designed to fit into a corner. A dial at the bottom extends three small blades that grab the wall and keep the shelf in place. You can’t use InstaShelves on tile because it needs to insert the blades into drywall in order to secure it in place. There is also a button which illuminates an LED light.
You can’t expect InstaShelves to hold a great deal of weight, but if they are installed properly, they should be able to hold at least several pounds each. And, although there are no tools required, keep in mind that there will be a mark left behind where the blades go into the wall.
There is a reason InstaShelves keep coming back, and that’s because people generally like them. If your expectations are realistic, you’ll probably find that InstaShelves work about as advertised. No, they won’t hold a lot of weight, and yes they will leave marks. But for a quick corner shelf that’s easy to install, InstaShelves easily live up to the hype.
Alternatives
There’s another As Seen on TV corner shelf called Shelf Master which you may also remember, but that item is not as easy to find these days.
Online, you may want to take a look at the Knape & Voit instant corner shelf, which costs about $14 and has mostly positive reviews.
The SnapUp Shelf by Hampton Direct does not leave marks, but it is slightly more expensive and has mixed reviews.

I’ve carried mine with me from place to place. I’d love to find some for sale
I have to. They are so convenient. I wish I could find some more. If I find them, I will reply with the information.
Not sure who will ever see this, but I had two of these shelves years and years ago… I loved them, you could put them in any corner and they stayed there perfectly and held plenty of weight. I have searched Amazon and the net up and down, but nothing comes close to this! I can’t believe someone hasn’t come out with this or a similar design. If InstaShelves doesn’t want to still produce them, I’m sure the patent is out by now, so its free game for anyone to produce something similar. I need these so bad for a… Read more »
Hey there! I believe there have been a few variations of this over the years, so you may have gotten one of the better ones! Have you tried Amazon or Temu to see if there are any knockoffs worth trying?
