StarNight Laser Review

StarNight Laser (sometimes written as “Star Night Laser”) is one of several laser light show products to appear in 2015, although it is advertising in earnest in mid-2016. The idea is that you can simply plug it in, stick it in the ground, and project a brilliant laser display onto your home. But does it work?

Reviews for this and similar products have generally been lukewarm. Perhaps to offset some of the consumer complaints, StarNight Laser has been re-introduced, although the website still features holiday-themed materials. The updated version features red and green lights and 8 settings, which include: red only, green only, both red and green, alternate red and green, red flash, green flash, red and green flash, and cycle.

One caveat that some consumers have pointed out is that StarNight Laser is water resistant, not waterproof. Very heavy rains could still get inside the unit and cause problems.

Old vs New Version

StarNight Laser has changed since it was first advertised, and if you read other reviews online, many of them still reference the old model. The new model projects both red and green, while the older models were sold individually as blue, green, or red. The pricing cited in old review sites is also outdated, as the product no longer costs $60, but has since been reduced to $20.

The price reduction from $60 to $20 is welcome, making StarNight Laser more competitive with products such as Star Shower Laser Light, or its follow-up called Star Shower Motion. The elimination of the blue light, however, seems to limit the red-green theme to only winter holidays. Blue and white would open it up to summer holidays.

Overall, the new price makes Star Night Laser a more appealing choice. It provides a nice display, although probably not as dramatic as depicted in the advertisting. Some consumers have said the lights are not very bright, while others have commented that they are bright. We have also heard complaints of the units not working after a short period of time, although we did not experience this.

I got just last Christmas 2015. I got it the weekend after Thanksgiving, started using it about December 4th. It lasted two weeks and stopped working. I was able to take it back to Walmart were I purchased it and got store credit. It went out, I think either it got to wet or the bulbs inside went out. It did look good when it worked.

I also watched the infomercial and it showed white and blue along with red and green but when you go to order it only shows red green. Looks like decpetive sales tactics.

It’s simple. The 2015 version had a blue light, the 2016 version does not come in blue.

Dont waste your money on this product. I had bought this last year at Christmas time, only used it for a few weeks and stored until this year. I got it out to use again and only one light and mode is working. I called the customer service number and was pretty much told I was shit out of luck , since there’s only a 60 day warranty. So I will never buy this product again!!
