Straight Up Brush Review

This appears to be a new product in 2016, given the official product website’s domain registration which occurred in March 2016. Although it sports the InStyler brand name, there is little information about this product its site or on the parent InStyler website. In fact, there is currently more information in the television commercial (below) than on the product website.

What we do know is that Straight Up Brush is among a glut of new heated brushes to hit the market in recent months, such as the highly-rated WonderBrush. It is said to offer a more even heat distribution than its competitors via 65 ceramic heated bristles

We have had rather extensive experience with heated brushes in recent months and it has been our general opinion that these products tend to work as advertised, although there is a learning curve involved. The process feels more like you’re using a flat iron than a brush, because your single pass must be moved slowly through the hair. And, while you can technically brush and straighten at the same time, for best results you’ll need to brush your hair with a “regular” brush first, which somewhat defeats the 2-in-1 aspect of these types of products.

InStyler products are generally well-received, and we feel that their offering in the heated brush category will garner around a 3.5 to 3.8 star rating once consumer reviews begin to trickle in.

It is more expensive than some of the other heated brushes currently advertising, which could dissuade some consumer from choosing this product. Only time will tell if the InStyler brand name can justify the higher cost.
