Hurricane Triple Spin Review

You have no doubt seen television commercials for other Hurricane-branded products like Hurricane Spin Mop, Hurricane Spin Broom, and Hurricane Spin Scrubber. Now with Hurricane Triple Spin, we have a three-disc mop that makes navigating around furniture a breeze.

The advertising looks compelling. There is a container that holds any cleaner, which can be sprayed via a pump handle. The three small pads, rather than one large one, seem to navigate around corners easily. A flexible extension handle can bend so you can reach underneath furniture without much effort.  Plus, the pads can be washed, which means you don’t have to keep buying more. There are also 6 pads included, so you can keep cleaning if your first set of three gets dirty.

In the past, I’ve often complained about cheap “As Seen on TV” handles for products like this, but now we have a flexible extension that could change things in that department. A handle of this design will be new to most people, and there could be a learning curve involved before it feels natural.

Perhaps my biggest concern is how well the pads hold up over time. I applaud the makers for including 6 in the box, because pads like this tend to get dirty fast. In my house, pads like this would be covered in pet hair before I could mop a single hallway.

In the end, this looks to be a solid entrant in the Hurricane line. There are enough features to make this a compelling purchase to some customers. The price is probably the biggest “con” at this point, especially since you must pay shipping because it isn’t available in stores yet. This is a very new product and consumer feedback is scant at this point. I’m still gathering information on this item and will update this space if anything changes.

Alternatives

There is no shortage of spin mops on the market, ranging anywhere from about $18 to $60. I found a nearly identical design on Amazon in this $20 Rejuvenate 3-Disc Microfiber Spin Mop.
